| Visa requirements for Guam are the same as for mainland USA; travellers require a visa or, if qualified, may travel visa free under the US Visa Waiver Program. If applying for a visa, application procedures are also the same. However, there is also a Visa Waiver Program specifically for Guam.
The nationals of Britain, Australia, Canada, USA, EU and Japan are declared visa-exempt under the Guam Visa Waiver Program on the following conditions:
- purpose of visit is for business, tourist or transit purposes only.
- the air carrier is a participant in the Guam visa waiver program.
- all visitors are in possession of a completed and signed visa waiver form, I-736 (obtainable from the airline).
Travellers who enter Guam visa free are not eligible to travel onward to the USA.
UK, Australian, Japanese and some EU nationals travel visa free for visits or 90 days under the USA Visa waiver Program (see Passport/Visa US section).
A US visitor visa is required by all except the following for stays of up to 15 days:
Citizens of Indonesia, Korea (Rep.), Malaysia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Taiwan, Vanuatu, or Western Samoa.
Taiwanese nationals are only visa exempt if in possession of a Taiwanese National ID card and they begin their journey in Taiwan and travel directly to Guam.
The following are not eligible to receive a USA entry visa:
- people afflicted with certain serious communicable diseases or disorders deemed threatening to the property, safety or welfare of others;
- anyone who has been arrested (except for very minor driving offences) or who has a criminal record;
- narcotics addicts or abusers and drug traffickers;
- anyone who has been deported from or denied admission to the USA.
Those who are ineligible may be eligible for a waiver of ineligibility.
Please note that requirements are subject to change at short notice and any applicant should check with the US Embassy
Passport required by all, except US citizens entering Guam from the US mainland or a US territory, provided they hold proof of citizenship and valid photo ID card.
All visitors must now hold a machine-readable passport (MRP). |
